This book is not meant to be an exhaustive biography on the life of Harriet Tubman, as several wonderful books and films are readily available. Although she was a great freedom fighter, war hero, and social reformer, my primary focus for this book is the life she led as a visionary, prophet, and woman of God. She was a powerful prophet of God who left the security of Church buildings to restore freedom, dignity and hope to those created in God's image.
"Harriet Tubman had a destiny as a forerunner who would break out of unthinkable circumstances and open the door for others to follow. Harriet carried out her operations through the mechanism of what became known as the Underground Railroad. No matter what things looked like in the natural, she kept the dream alive in her heart until it came to pass. Many of God’s children receive powerful dreams and visions of future victories and breakthroughs, but only a few dare to keep believing when the path seems dark and stormy. Harriet had a faith that couldn’t be broken by beatings, hunger, cruelty, injustice, or racism. It is that aspect of her life that I hope I can adequately relate to readers of this book." - From Introduction
